CALL FOR CLASS NOTES!

11 July 2018

If you recently graduated from Queen’s or visited the University, you will have noticed that there is a lot of construction work and numerous other changes going on around campus. At Queen’s, we stay up-to-date to ensure that current and future generations are offered the best possible student experience.

Many of our alumni have also undergone significant changes in their lives since graduating from Queen’s and we would love to hear all about them! In short, we want to know, what’s new with you?

The University’s annual alumni magazine – The Graduate – will be issued in October 2018 and will be sent to over 140,000 Queen’s gradates across the globe. Share your updates with us and we’ll include your news in the Class Notes section of the magazine.

By sharing details of a job promotion, a book publication or simply by letting us know that you have moved to a different country, your news can be read and celebrated by fellow alumni worldwide. Submitting a Class Note is also a great way to reach out and reconnect with old friends with whom you may have lost contact.

Gerry Power, Editor of The Graduate says it is all about keeping in touch. “It’s great to hear how Queen’s alumni are getting on in their careers since leaving the University. The Graduate keeps the University up-to-date with what our alumni are doing around the world and keeps former students informed with what’s happening here as well.

“And it is the most popular section of the magazine – I guess everyone is curious to find out what’s new with their former friends.”

Graduates wishing to contribute to Class Notes can email their news to alumni@qub.ac.uk or, alternatively, can complete and submit a pro forma which can be found here. Those wanting to include a picture to go along with their Class Note should attach a high resolution photo to their email.

“While we will certainly do our very best to include all Class Notes received in this year’s magazine, that’s not always possible due to the space restrictions. We will, however, make sure to publish any that don’t make it into the magazine on our website,” added Gerry.

By providing details of achievements and milestones reached, graduates can share their good news and success stories and inspire other alumni that anything is possible after graduation.

Those sending in Class Notes can include their contact details if they’d like to hear from former classmates or from other alumni living in their area.

To be considered for publication, submissions must reach the Editor of The Graduate not later than Friday 27 July.

Class Notes from the 2017 magazine can be viewed here (go to pp36-43).
