Charles Michael Lavery, LLB, BA (died 25 April 2019, aged 84)

Charles Michael Lavery was born on 10 June 1934 in Portadown and attended Christian Brothers Grammar School in Armagh. He went on to study law at Queen's University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin before being called to the Bar in 1956.

 

Michael took part in many high-profile cases during his career of more than six decades until his retirement in 2017; most noteworthy of all he represented some of the families of the Bloody Sunday victims at the Saville Inquiry.

 

Michael went on to marry Dr Annelieve Lavery and to have five children Gisela, Michael, Finbar, Ronan, Annalieze and eleven grandchildren.
