CALLING GRADUATES OF THE CLASS OF 2018!

30 May 2019

If you graduated in Summer 2018, you will be contacted in the coming months to ask you to complete the Graduate Outcomes survey – a new national study to find out whether you are in employment, continued with further study or decided to do something completely different.

To that end we need your help! The June/July graduating Class of 2018 can expect to be surveyed (by email or by telephone) between 1 June and 31 August 2019, as long as the University holds accurate up-to-date contact information for you – especially a valid email address and phone number.

Find out how to update your details below or click here to opt in/sign up today to amend your contact information.

“All graduates who completed a course in the UK after August 2017 will be asked to participate in the survey – which will take just 10 minutes to complete – 15 months after they finish their studies,” said Dr Duncan Berryman, Student Surveys Assistant at Queen’s.

“The survey aims to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development, and the results will also be a vital tool for Queen’s when providing careers advice to students, now and in the future.

“By completing the survey, participants will be helping Queen’s understand the choices they have made since graduation and how this reflects the skills they developed whilst in education.

“This will ensure the University is promoting courses accurately to prospective students.”

The results will be crucial in allowing our students to make informed choices and in helping the University to evaluate, improve and promote courses.

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest UK annual social survey and captures the perspectives and current status of recent graduates. It is overseen by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies.

HESA, through their partner organisation IFF Research, will be contacting graduates through a number of different means – email, text message, and phone calls.

Queen's sends your contact details to HESA on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies. As this survey is a legal requirement for education purposes, the passing of these contact details is fully compliant with GDPR regulations.

So we need your help please! Please make sure that your contact details are up-to-date with Queen’s Development and Alumni Relations Office. You can visit www.qub.ac.uk/alumni (and follow the login/sign up instructions) at any time before the survey closes. Once you are logged in you can also indicate how you would like to hear from the University in the future.

Then, when you are contacted, please respond to the invitation to participate in the Graduate Outcomes survey.

Make sure your views are heard and feel free to spread the word among your former classmates to encourage as many of them as possible to take the survey.

As the biggest UK annual social survey, the collective graduate voice is powerful and will directly impact the future of education for prospective students. So join over 700,000 fellow graduates and be ‘part of the picture’ of education today!
