SIGN UP TO WIN BNB AND EVENING MEAL FOR TWO IN GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL, BELFAST

05 November 2019

A Queen’s graduate is set to win an overnight stay for two people in a 4-star Belfast city centre Hastings Hotel, simply by signing up for regular communications from the Development and Alumni Relations Office at the University.

Graduates can enter the competition by signing up to Queen’s Alumni Online (QAO) – our virtual graduate community – or by changing their personal settings to ‘opt in’ to receive regular email updates.

Through the Development and Alumni Relations Office, the University issues a monthly email (the eGraduate) to keep Queen’s alumni informed about the latest research and fundraising initiatives, volunteering opportunities, achievements of fellow alumni and current students, and the range of exclusive opportunities – such as reunions, events around the world and alumni discount offers – which are available to them.

Graduates of the Class of 2019 who wish to keep in touch with Queen’s can do so by clicking here today and automatically enter the prize draw!

Commenting on the initiative, Queen’s Alumni Officer for Engagement, Andy Nisbet Friel, said: “One lucky graduate of the University is going to win a luxury overnight stay for 2 people in the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast – plus dinner for two – all courtesy of Hastings Hotels.

“Members of the Class of 2019 – or indeed graduates of any year – can ‘opt in’ at any time between now and the end of December (if they want to be included in the draw), to receive news from Queen’s by electronic means such as email and to make sure that they don’t lose out on the privileges they can enjoy as graduates of the University."

Hastings Hotels is the largest independent hotel group in Northern Ireland with seven properties across the province. The family owned business was established in 1966 by the late Sir William Hastings.

Previously known as Windsor House, the building was converted and opened as the Grand Central Hotel on 20 June 2018 following an extensive £30m refurbishment. It has 304 bedrooms with associated restaurant and bar facilities and 18 serviced hotel apartments.

By confirming/registering a personal email address with Queen’s Development and Alumni Relations Office graduates will:

  • Receive a copy of the eGraduate issued on the first Tuesday of each month
  • Be kept up-to-date with all the latest news from Queen’s
  • Receive invitations to events and class reunions
  • Find out about further courses of study at Queen’s
  • Discover volunteering opportunities to keep involved with University life
  • Be advised of the latest exclusive alumni discount offers
  • Hear about fundraising activities and the impact philanthropy has on current students, priority University projects and research

Mr Nisbet Friel added: “Entries for the prize draw must be received by 11.59pm on Tuesday 31 December, so graduates have plenty of time to sign up and opt in to have a chance to win this wonderful prize. Good luck everyone!”

Alumni who have lost touch with the University since graduating, and who would like take part in the competition, can do so by updating their contact details on-line where they can also let Queen’s know their preferences for ongoing contact from the University. Preferences can be amended by emailing DARO (alumni@qub.ac.uk) or via Queen’s Alumni Online.
