Carry the ‘first class’ card and show you care!

In 1992, Queen's joined forces with Bank of Ireland UK to introduce an exclusive affinity credit card.

Since then over 5,000 Queen’s graduates and staff have availed themselves of this unique card which features the distinctive Lanyon Building. Carrying it immediately identifies you with a world-class Russell Group University and strengthens your ties with your Alma Mater.

How your Affinity Card helps current students

When you become a Queen’s Affinity Card holder, Bank of Ireland UK automatically donates £25 to the University. The more cardholders, the more Queen’s will benefit – all at no cost to you!

And Bank of Ireland UK will also donate a percentage of the annual turnover on your card to Queen’s, to support its continuing scholarship programme, again at no cost to you, and without disclosing any of your confidential account details.

Proceeds from the Card helped Queen's to establish the Alumni Postgraduate Award Fund in 1992. The Fund provides financial support for postgraduate research at the University and since it was set up the Fund has issued more than 165 awards (worth over £1/4m) to students to enable them to continue their studies. Without the income generated by the Affinity Card many of these individuals would have been unable to complete their courses.

So, Queen’s Affinity MasterCard benefits both past and present generations of students at the University!

Celebrating 25 years of Queen’s Affinity Card

To mark the 25th anniversary of Queen’s Affinity Card, Bank of Ireland UK offered cardholders a chance to win a weekend for two at the Merchant Hotel Belfast including breakfast and a three course evening meal at Bert’s Bar.

Find out more about lucky winner Jim Turner from Belfast here.
