Darryl Gordon, BSc (died 31 August 2015, aged 60)

Obituary taken from Ward Funeral Home, Book of Memories

Darryl was born in Northern Ireland on 7 June 1955, first child to William David (Derry) and Margaret Gordon. He spent his childhood in the village of Sion Mills outside Strabane, Co Tyrone before moving to Holywood in Co Down where he completed his primary and secondary education. He later moved to Belfast to attend Queen's University, graduating with a degree in Psychology in 1977.

Darryl moved to Dublin to pursue career opportunities where he met his former wife and mother of his children, Linda Downes. They lived happily in Dublin and welcomed their son, Kris in 1983. They emigrated to Canada in 1986 settling in Oakville where they would have their daughter, Fiona and Darryl pursued a successful marketing career.

He was a truly loving and caring father, brother and friend. He loved his children above all else and would often express to his friends and loved ones the pride he had in them. He was an intellectual, well read and wanted to learn more of this world every day, he had a wicked sense of humour and an infallible wit that will be deeply missed. A skilful poker player who would smile you down the river. He was a light in the world to everyone who knew him, and was deeply loved by his family and will be missed very much by all.
