Alumni engagement and philanthropy

Queen's University Association, USA (QUAUS) - Washington DC

The Washington Chapter of the Queen’s University Association United States (QUAUS) was launched in the autumn of 2011 at an event in the Northern Ireland Bureau.  The group will provide opportunities for alumni to network with fellow graduates - and friends of the University - living and working in the DC Metro area. It will also be a focal point for Queen’s students on the Washington-Ireland programme (WIP) during their 8-week visit to the region.

The University's first alumni reception in DC took place in April 2012 when over thirty Queen's alumni and special guests from WIP, the NI Bureau and the Folger Institute (with which Queen's has academic ties) gathered in the National Geographic Society. Attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Peter Gregson, and addressed by special guest Carol Wheeler (founder of WIP) the evening focused on the special relationship between Queen's and Washington.
