ARE YOU A WINNER? OPT IN FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!

02 April 2020

As we reveal the winner of last month’s delicious ‘opt in to win’ food hamper, we are delighted to confirm that the prize for the April free draw has been provided by local artist Mark Graham.

In March, we asked you to opt in to receive our monthly electronic eGraduate magazine to be eligible to win a gorgeous food/drink hamper – a superb prize donated by Indie Füde, founded by Queen’s Accounting alumnus, Johnny McDowell.

You can read here about Johnny’s passion for artisan food and how he came to set up his mouth-watering business in Comber.

And the lucky hamper winner, drawn at random, is:

  • Michael Davison from Belfast; BSc Mechanical Engineering (1971); MSc Computer Science (1974); MA Greek (1988)

Michael's prize will be on its way to him very shortly.

From food and drink to art. This month’s winner will receive a selection of fine prints featuring Northern Ireland landscapes and Queen’s Lanyon Building painted by Mark Graham.

Mark worked as a graphic designer for 15 years before turning full time to painting and teaching art. Working in both oil and acrylic, he paints in a post-impressionist manner with a strong emphasis on tonal value.

Speaking to Queen’s Mark said: "Painting is an analogue process in a digital world. I work with 16th century technology, and like to concentrate on the things that others ignore.

“For me the painter is an artisan of thought and a representative of centuries of tradition and centuries of rebellion.”

Mark carries out commissions, runs a number of classes and workshops (currently taking bookings for September-December) and can offer private viewings by appointment at his studio. Original paintings and prints are available online and every Saturday and Sunday at St George’s Market (currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions).

To be in with a chance to win April’s prize art bundle all you need to do is opt in to receive our monthly electronic eGraduate magazine.

You can find out more about Mark by visiting his Facebook page (Mark Graham Fine Art) or his Instagram account. His new website is currently under construction.
